I’m a Dominican-American video producer/journalist from Washington Heights, New York City. A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology. And I got my “post-grad degree” in in front of and behind the camera documenting the various movements for civil rights for people of color, women, immigrants, LGBTQ people, and in movements against war and economic inequality. My documentary-style images and videos focus on my fascination with people in their everyday life and their propensity to challenge their circumstances.
In 2016, I began exploring Latin America to capture the uniqueness of people in places beyond U.S. borders. In 2017, I moved to Ecuador to work as a video producer and produced the documentary short, “A Cancer in the Amazon”, about Texaco’s (now Chevron) environmental harm in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
My work spans several publications including Democracy Now, teleSUR English, Jacobin Magazine, La Galeria Magazine, Redfish, and Haymarket Books. I am currently the Video Lead at The Root where I produce and manage all video content for the brand.
